After attending the SCBWI winter conference in New York and then Asilomar this year, I thought I'd maybe wait until next year to do another conference. But now it's feeling like way too big of a gap between meeting new people and staying in touch with the industry. So, with my wife's blessing, I registered to attend the SCBWI summer conference in Los Angeles in August. It's the 40th annual conference and it's going to be HUGE. Lots of big names and intriguing sessions. On top of that, I've never really been to LA. Can't wait. More to come. For info, go to http://www.scbwi.org/.
Anyone out there been to a past LA summer conference? How was it? Any suggestions for a first timer?
