Can't Sleep Without Sheep Jingle Contest

So yesterday Penny Parker Klosterman posted a link on the 12x12 Group Facebook page. It read: "Something-something... JINGLE CONTEST." Jingle contest!? The link led me to Susanna Leonard Hill's website where I learned that her delightful bedtime book Can't Sleep Without Sheep (illustrated by Mike Wohnoutka) was being released this week in e-book format.

To celebrate the occasion, Susanna was offering a jingle writing contest with prizes. Sounded great. Sign me up. But wait. I was reading the post on Monday, May 6th and the deadline was Tuesday May 7th. Yoinks. I checked online to see if the book was available at our public library. (I LOVE that I can do that.) And... it was!

So I swung by the library, grabbed the book, picked the kids up from school, read them the book at home, and (4 hours later) put them to bed. Then, between the hours of 9pm and 1am, I wrote my jingle lyrics, set them to music, recorded the song, imported the finished mp3 to iMovie, popped in some photos from the book, uploaded to YouTube, and--phew--off to count some sheep of my own.

For more information about Can't Sleep Without Sheep and where to buy it in hardcover or e-book format, visit Susanna at www.susannahill.blogspot.com. You can also go directly to Bloomsbury for links to Kindle, Kobo, Apple and Google Play e-book editions.

Congrats to Susanna and her electric sheep!
