One Giant Leap for Bot-Kind

Holy cow! The news is out! I dropped an announcement a while back on Facebook and Twitter that I had signed my contracts with Simon & Schuster, but somehow seeing it listed on Publishers Weekly's Children's Bookshelf feels even more official.

It was a huge week for my circle of 12x12 friends as four of us had deal announcements listed--me, Tara Lazar, Miranda Paul, and Tammi Sauer. See the full rundown here.

PLUS, I can finally announce to the world that BITTY BOT! has an illustrator! I am so thrilled that Tad Carpenter will be bringing Bitty Bot and the town of Botsburg to visual life. Tad is an amazing illustrator and graphic designer and his super cool retro style (assuming he goes in that direction) is going to be so awesome you guys. Tad's picture book credits include NINJA, NINJA NEVER STOP, the adorable I SAY, YOU SAY book series, and SAD SANTA. And, Tad hails from Kansas City, my home town, so he gets a bonus point, I suppose.

Now I get to sit back and wait... Or do I? There's the little matter of a totally-adorable-better-than-the-first-book follow up to BITTY BOT! that I need to be writing. It's in the contract, after all. Okay then. Celebration's over. Back to work.
